Consequences

The 16th century pink marble fountain in Évora's main square, where the water from the aqueduct emerges through eight spouts, representing the main roads out of the square.

Tried to get our Portuguese driving licenses today, given that Britain has chosen to cut itself off from Europe... Found out that we have till the end of the year to do it, which is a good job, as we'll need all sorts - authentication by the British embassy of our current licenses, medical exams, psychological exams... and, during the process, our licenses will be replaced by bits of paper that will only be valid for driving in Portugal, so no going over the border to buy fuel or building supplies, nor using a car in Britain.

Remind me again why folk thought it was a good idea to do this??

Anyway, my gratefuls:
- the privilege of a car, and licenses to drive it
- banter with André in our usual lunch place, A Choupana
- good writing enlarging my experience and understanding

Oh, and again, thanks so much for all the appreciation for yesterday's Blip!
