If you can't beat them...

Rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus)

A visit to then Lodge and I was determined to find something other than a bird or flower for today's blip.  I did take shots of some of nextdoor's Snowdrops, they always seem so much earlier than ours.  Fortunately just before we left I spotted one of the many Rabbits which run round the site.

This one was an adult, however often they are youngsters.   Most of my life the theory has been that Rabbits were introduced to Britain either by the Romans or the Normans.   Recently Rabbit remains dating back 500,000 years have been found in West Sussex and Kent.  The European Rabbit (one of 13 species) has been introduced into all continents apart from Antarctica.
