I.T.K.A.

(It's That Kestrel Again).

It turns out that I'm not the Kestrel Whisperer I thought I was. Somebody feeds it, which I watched a few days ago, and today when I pulled up beside the road where it often hunts it came down to see if there was any food in the offing and let me get very close to it. Another photographer with a very fancy long lens pulled up too and started digging in the mud for worms for it, all the while missing the opportunity to photograph it while it sat on the fence a few yards from us.

(So sad to hear that Nicholas Parsons has gone, but good to know that he left quickly and quietly, still working at 96. RIP.)
