Carol's ramblings

Christmas party

I know, it’s January .......

Our WI always has their Christmas do in January (less stress, cheaper etc).

So after a little lie in :) got my gladrags on and joined my friends at the local hotel (the Grange) for our gathering. Quite a turn out this year, all happy to eat the food served to us by patient and polite staff. Being lunchtime and more mature people, alcohol was a minimum so no rowdy unwelcome outbursts ... a lovely time had by all (even though it was a tad chilly in the room, food was good).

Back home and changed into warmer clothing, then off to visit AJ. She was having an off day, not firing on all cylinders, was hoping to see the GP but they are not going until tomorrow. Generally a bit cheesed off, and tearful with it. She is also worried about another family member that she can’t get to see as they are in hospital at the moment. We ended my visit with a good laugh about “what would Olive say, pull yourself together and get on with things!” Our nan (Olive) was a strong character and never let the “down in the dumps days” get to you, you had to be positive and carry on :)
