Driving through the Tarkine, there are plenty of stunning diversions At the end of a long, lovely day on the Arthur River, we started at The Edge of the World and turned left into the rainforest, making many magical stops. As the day closed in, we made one final diversion, inspired by an internet image I had found several months ago. I had always imagined this “secret” location was the culmination of days, or at least hours, of heavy duty wilderness trekking. But no, a long gravel road led us through several kilometers of logging devastation to the fringe of a forest reserve. From there, it was a short, paved 15 minute descent through a gorgeously romantic glade of tree fern and leatherwood petals to this geological wonder, formed by two sinkholes.
