Italian flowers (to celebrate Brexit)

(***** UPDATE: 23:01 We’ve left the EU*****)

It was only as I uploaded these flowers* for blip that I remembered it was Flower Friday, and of course Brexit Day. So these are actually quite appropriate! (*Hope you green gardeners out there have a sense of humour).

Last night we attended a Dorset Blind charity ‘Italian Evening’ at Da Vinci on Poole Quay. Francesco and Daniela performed classic Italian music. Both sing, she plays the Sax brilliantly, and he the keyboard and guitar too. They also entertained at our Big 0 In 2017.

A fabulously entertaining evening. The attendees all embraced the Latin vibes. And we sat with our friends C ‘Cassfoto’ and R, and M & H.

We were invited to take the ‘flowers’ home, which I did. There were many (huge) bunches adorning the tables.

Left to find a parking ticket. I checked before leaving the car, it was so dark perhaps I missed a sign? Certainly didn’t see any yellow lines. Plan to go back to check out of interest. Luckily an ‘affordable’ £35. We usually take the bus, but didn’t fancy wandering back to the sadly notorious bus-station (feral youth) in the dark. What is the country coming to! And they want us to use public transport.

So tonight at 11pm we officially leave the EU. Now for another protracted period of negotiating with EU. Trade deals, and how we co-operate with the EU on security and law enforcement. And setting up deals with the rest of the world :)

So hope we finally leave as friends. The issue was never with Europe, just the EU.
