Semla!

We haven’t had a semla yet this year. Semla is the Swedish Lent bun, a cardamom bun filled with soft marzipan and fluffy whipped cream. Delicious! It’s not Lent yet, obviously, but they start baking and selling them right after Christmas.

It’s traditionally eaten on Tuesdays, but people eat it all days of the week. Which is lucky, because we missed this Tuesday, so today was semla day! Mum went to a well known bakery and got this - a sourdough semla with perfect cardamom flavour, almost runny marzipan with small almond pieces and perfect, fluffy cream. Wow! I helped with the taste test. We give it 10/10! We like to rate semlor.

And - mum finished the Harry Potter puzzle she got for Christmas. Well done mum!
