In Dormancy

The meadow flattened by heavy snowfalls for the most part leaving just a few old stems standing. They look sparse and forlorn against the stark white snow. Brightly coloured flowers catching the sunlight are a distant memory and hope of resurgence next season lies buried deep.

I kept the broken stem on the edge of the frame, thinking it might create an unbalanced composition adding to a slightly edgy undercurrent. I don't know if it works?
