Super Highway - Super Slow Way

I love the inscription on these fairly new lock gates, even though it isn't legible in the photo - Super Highway, Super Slow way. I think it sums up canal life perfectly. Even some of the water is frozen and snow is lying on the ice.
While trying to plan the composition I was treated to the sight of a kingfisher flying up the line of the canal.
