Compare this blip to Sunday’s and you’ll see that the river Kent has risen by about 1m and is now muddy brown.

The hills were already saturated and the near constant rain of the last few days has created streams where there were none before and generally the ground is extremely boggy. Add in gale force winds and sadly this evening’s planned night nav session had to be cancelled. What a shame. I left Kendal and drove back to Val & Martyn’s in Didsbury.
