48 hours in Doha

I stopped in Doha on my way home because I have a friend who works there. My very long flight from Auckland arrived after midnight and N met me at the airport. After some much needed sleep she showed me around some of the city.

This is the Katara area just before sunset. Nearby there's an ampitheatre. I wandered onto the stage to take the photo in the extra. The second extra is of one of the few old buildings I saw in the city (most of it is recently constructed or still under construction). The second extra is part of a mosque.
