Chalybeate Springs

We live just off the main ridge where the Tunbridge Wells sandstone meets the Wealden clay and where numerous springs emerge. The spring waters contain salts of iron giving them their characteristic rusty orange colouring which shows up particularly well against the snow. This particular spring is very reliable, I've never known it to dry up or freeze over.
