Two fires....

....have broken out along the northern banks of the Ashley River.

It was calm when hubby and I arrived to the southern side of the river. We watched as monsoon buckets were filled from pools in the river which is flowing very low. A warm gusty nor'west wind sent smoke bellowing into the air and what we thought looked like calm and controlled soon showed another story, we didn't linger.

The fires started yesterday, and sounds as though one was deliberately lit. I believe 50 hectares of vegetation has been burnt. We've had no rain for quite some time, all is tinder dry.
