Another Day, Another Book

More fun learning.

Continuing our exploration of South America through books during Book Week, today I read the wonderful Ada's Violin. I have to admit, I was choking up some of the time as I read this. The horrific conditions in the landfill town of Cateura juxtaposed with the magical music created by the Recycled Orchestra of Paraguay make for an extremely powerful and moving tale.

I'm looking forward to seeing the musical instruments which the class will design/make using waste products after being inspired by this tale.
