Boston burying ground

Today I visited Cambridge MA and walked around central Boston, following the Freedom Trail. Scattered around the city are various 'burying' grounds from the early days of colonisation and independence. The headstones can be elaborately carved or more simple in style, but all are uniformly made from a shale type rock. In the King's Chapel burying ground this headstone was singularly illuminated by the late afternoon sun.
