A photograph today of the model of Bucklers Hard village, set in 1803, when it was a centre for warship construction.
The 74 gun HMS Swiftsure is under construction nearest the camera, the 36 gun HMS Euryalus is 3 days from launch behind her.
The village of Bucklers Hard rises in the background, its wide street allowing oaks trees, felled in the New Forest for ship construction, to be rolled down to the quays.
