Morning flower

We were up bright and early for a 6.45am Whale Watching Expedition this morning. Sadly it was cancelled due to bad weather. So we had a walk on the beach before returning for breakfast. We found these lovely flowers were growing well on the beach. Before 10am we were on the road to Christchurch. As usual roads were quiet, seldom more than one car ahead and one behind untill we reached the city and even then a quiet town. We walked to town centre from our BNB passing lots of modern houses rebuilt after the earthquakes of 2010 & 2011. The town centre is a strange mix of new and old 'waiting to be rebuilt'. The cathedral is savagely open to the elements whilst work is done to stabilise the foundations. There is still much to do 10 years on especially to the the older buildings. The temperature has dropped 10 degrees but we have still experienced minimal rain and tomorrows forecast is sun.
