I set off for Sizergh this morning in search of the elusive Hawfinch.  I enquired on arrival if there were any about and was told that a group had indeed been seen in the copse near Gardener's Cottage.  A couple of hours later I decided it was not going to be my day to see one but, as a consolation, I did get a flypast by a Kingfisher.  I will try again another day.

I moved on to Leighton Moss where there was plenty of duck activity and the Marsh Harriers were showing well.  A Sparrowhawk swooped in and took something small, possibly a reed bunting, and I made friends with this sweet little Marsh Tit.
