Electric vehicle charging hub.

Been watching this infrastructure project with interest over recent months. It’s coming together nicely now. It’s a project about reducing carbon emissions from the road transport sector, and the proposed phasing out of sales of new petrol and diesel cars by 2032 in Scotland.

Twenty six electric vehicle (EV) charging bays are being installed at the stadium charging hub and are expected to be operational soon; the electricity they’re providing will be generated in part by the overhead solar canopy. The site is close to on/off junctions on one of the main motorways, and a road deemed a gateway to town. It’ll be open 24 hrs a day. It’s part of a Scottish Government programme in which a further 106 electric vehicle (EV) bays in addition to these ones are being rolled out across the Council area; there’s another 32 bay EV charging hub and a total of 64 EV charging points located at other 4-5 busy public spots, eg the hospital, key tourist sites and some town centre locations, and a few miscellaneous ones. Lots of good quality employment involved in the contract jobs, a fair range of trades involved.

Did some varnishing and a wee bit more decorating; it’s almost finished now. Tomorrow will involve cleaning and tidying up.

Family meal this evening, clean plates. Curry was popular.
