Coldworker 'Rotting Paradise' (Relapse, 2008)

This proficient exercise in death metal brutality was purchased in the excellent Vinyl Exchange record shop whilst visiting Manchester for the third coming of the Stone Roses. It has great packaging; modern day takes on Bosch with twisted religious iconography. Think At the Gates mixed with Morbid Angel and a dash of Deicide. The vocals remind me on occasion of Roderigo De Sanchez's mighty growl and there are also hints of Zillah's technicality throughout. I'd love to see them live.
