This evening’s moonrise was 8.08pm and sunset at 8.42pm. 

A wide band of cloud delayed the appearance of the moon while a wide band of cloud above the Western Ranges hid the sun earlier than usual. 

This photo was taken from the historic wharf in Motueka at 8.35pm, 27 minutes after the moon rose above the horizon.
