At last: snow!

Grey again today, spent the morning doing science revision with Mike - he has a week of exams this week. Then went over to Penrith to collect Gail, who has spent a couple of days down in Hertfordshire visiting her Mum. Due to the snow all over the country - except the north Lakes - her train was half-an-hour late. We drove quickly to Carlisle (no blue flashing lights) and went to the cinema to see les Miserables - totally blew me away, Hugh Jackman is a great talent, but it was Anne Hathaway that I saw in a totally new light - simply amazing, words can't do it justice.

I was going to Blip Mike with his head stuck in his science books, but looked out of the window at 11.30pm to see white stuff on the ground. So I simply walked to the bottom of the drive and took a snowy street scene by street lights.

A touch of tone mapping brought out the texture of the falling snow by the street light and added a touch of texture to the shot.
