Angel

This wonderful sculpture has a huge presence on the walk from Flinders Street in central Melbourne, along the Yarra to the Tennis.

Sculpted by Melbourne artist Deborah Halpern, Angel is an approximately ten metre high mosaic work originally commissioned in commemoration of the bicentenary of European settlement in Australia. It located at Birrarung Marr on the banks of the Yarra in central Melbourne.

It incorporates over 4,000 individually hand cut and painted tiles and comprises of 16 main images including a crocodile, fish, angels, birds, plants, scrolls and mythical creatures
