It's Happened Again.

Storm Ciara has wreaked havoc in the Upper Calder Valley.
Todmorden, Hebden Bridge, Mytholmroyd and Sowerby Bridge have all had extensive flooding.  All roads through the valley are closed and serious damage to property has occurred.  The high winds have blown some trees down, but it's the water that has caused the real damage.
The £32m Flood Defence Scheme to protect property in Mytholmroyd has been a total failure. 2 years of traffic misery - for what?
Fortunately for the residents of Maison MD the water flows past us down to the River Hebden and then off to join the River Calder in Hebden Bridge.  Fields are waterlogged and some of our lanes have suffered water damage, but nothing like the poor souls down in the valley bottom.
After a brief lull this afternoon, the rain is back and expected to last throughout the night and most of tomorrow......not good news.
