Recently Felled Timber

Not a very inspiring blip today because of the difficult weather conditions. This is an end on close-up of some recently felled timber logs. As I said previously they have been thinning the trees out in John Muir Woods. This particular log was in a pile of some hundreds of logs which have yet to be removed from the site. They have warning signs telling you not to climb on the log pile as it could well collapse under your feet. !I have not counted the annual rings but I suspect they show that the tree around seventy to eighty years old as this woodland was replanted after the second World War.
