What Is Below The Willow Pattern Plate?

I think, that I first learned the story illustrated in the Blue Willow Pattern China. Over the following years various examples have crept into our kitchen display cabinets from various sources.

This particular one was found in a charity shop and came complete with the wire hanger. Not the best way to treat a porcelain plate.

Rather than attempt to remove it, California Girl hung it above the rather fine wood carving which is the top of a cabinet which resided in her late mother’s California home.

Apparently, the cabinet came from the California home of John Muir, who hailed from Dunbar. He had something to do with the National Parks in America.

Just about to head off to Dundee to meet up with California Girl who is travelling back from her latest osteopath appointment and gin experience.

The bad news is she has torn a ligament in her knee, which explains a lot.
