Bergenia or Elephants Ears

These have just burst into life in our front garden, under the Prunus Tree.  The flowers are beautiful but the leaves are thick and leathery, representing elephants ears, hence the name.  One advantage is that they need very little maintenance other than deadheading in spring; they are also great ground cover!
