From Greenland with love

Many years ago, long before it hit the tourist trail, I spent a day in Greenland, on the island of Kulusk.

Our small party had flown there from Iceland, and we were watching a demonstration of Inuit crafts when a small girl of about eight signalled for me to follow her.

We clambered over rocks behind the tin shanty dwellings and she suddenly held out her hand.

It held this necklace.
She signalled for me to take it.

And I still have it. Something I cherish.

Thanks to Mindful life for hosting Tiny Tuesday on the theme of love or cherish.
