From Bantry Bay to Derry Quay ...

Well! We've had a bit of snow - not much on the Sheepshead but the Beara was well covered. Himself left for Cork city early but returned as the further inland you went the skiddier the roads. I ventured out. Everywhere was so blue and many blips were taken but in the end I went for this - a little boat making ripples as it heads out towards Whiddy Island. If you biggify you can see its destination, the quay and next to it the only pub on the island. In the background is the impressive hump of Hungry Hill, the highest mountain on the Beara Peninsula.
Back home and Himself was still tackling the last of the water hemlock and I resumed clearing around the gooseberries and blueberries, currently underwater. Time for a warm up and a cuppa.

And enjoy this rather unorthodox version of the Star of the County Down by the Orthodox Celts - apparently they're big in Serbia. It made me smile. Sing along with the chorus please.

And do check out TJ, one year ago, looking impossibly glamorous up to her ankles in mud!
