Castle details

Spent the night in a run down castle (Featherstone Castle, Haltwhistle, Northumberland) for a friends birthday party. I took quite a few photos, but todays were of empty rooms, and this one seems to be a bit more representative. It is part of a carving on a back staircase, which to me looked as though it was probably used by servants. If so it would have been an expensive feature for its location. The dust gives an idea of the run down nature of the castle which has been hired out to school and outdoor type groups for years.
