Fruit and vegetable market Ernarcalam

We caught the ferry from Vypin Island to Ernarcalam to do some shopping. Our good friend Neelesh met us and took us to the best shops to find what we wanted. We bought various bits and pieces as presents for those at home and then he took us to the international book fayre. This was held in large and wonderfully air conditioned tents. There were many people including school children listening to speakers.....a pity we can't understand Malayalam.
We walked through the fruit and veg. market, admiring the colourful displays and the hustle and bustle,
before going back to the lovely shop selling brass items ,including lamps.......yes, we found one :))
Neelesh insisted on taking us out to lunch where we sat chatting in the cool and enjoying a wonderful meal served on banana leaves and eaten with fingers.
We had had enough shopping and the temperature was now 35 degrees so we said farewell to Neelesh and caught the ferry to Fort Cochin. We had a welcome beer sitting looking out over the harbour before catching another ferry back to Vypin Island.
Neema welcomed us back and looked at all our purchases. She was impressed by the lamp and said we had bought it for a very good price.
We have a cookery class with her tomorrow . She made sure that we all subscribed to her you tube channel. She set us homework !
The photo is of the market and the extra is our friend Neelesh
