This glorious red tailed black cockatoo (Banks' Black Cockatoo) is one of a gang who take up grazing residence in the street at this time of year.
They yell and shout, raise those crests like eyebrows at the first opportunity and prune twigs and branches into untidy piles that rain down on the unexpected walker and dog.

The female's has red and orange-yellow bands on the undertail covert feathers while the male has red panels on the undertail feathers (extra)
