Desperately seeking

Great Mell Fell

Our first proper snow of the winter, snow that makes all the garden white. Show deep enough for the snow plough to have been through the village. We could tell that a thaw had set in, so decided we would have to set off soon if we wanted to blip a snowy landscape.

Originally we just wanted shots of Blencathra, it had cloud on it and the sun was lighting it up. Then I wondered if mist would be hanging over Derwentwater, we wouldn't know if we didn't go. On the way we stopped for a few more shots like this one.

The peace that was Derwentwater in February was shattered by the beeps of a text coming in: our visitors at the lodge had been without hot water for 2 days! Oh, no! We have spent a lot of time and money on the small cubic footage of the airing cupboard over the past year! We needed to get ourselves back and try and sort it.

We couldn't find anything wrong with the settings so we called the engineers again. They will come tomorrow afternoon. What is worrying me is that the people arriving on Saturday are folk who are being given a free holiday by us because they had problems with the water on their last visit! I hope the job gets sorted,
