Weigh & Pay

And unusually there is a customer buying something as I walked through.
This used to be our fruit and vegetable market and was very busy from the early 19th century until the 70s when shopping habits changed.
It struggled on until the late 90s (maybe early 00s) then closed.
The building now houses various things. Then people (a lot of whom are ex-pats and rarely if ever visit let alone shop in Guernsey) began to campaign for a return of the fruit and veg. So weigh and pay was born some months ago. I pass through this market several times a week but rarely see anyone buying anything. There’s no car parking nearby and people aren’t prepared to walk and carry heavy bags. And anyway you can buy hedge veg along the roads.
I wonder how long weigh and pay will survive.
