She didn't make the Skype call and she didn't actually say anything you or I would recognise as words. But my daughter did communicate with her grandparents using Skype on my iPhone today. She was really excited and made a lot of noise and gestures. Several times she managed to bounce her seat closer to the table where my phone perched so she could grab it. It was a moment that made me reflect on generational differences and also on how far consumer technology has come in my life time.
