I don’t know if this is the first time the Town House in Inverness has been turned pink for Valentine’s Day but I do know this was where the first UK Cabinet meeting held outside London took place , on the 7th of September 1921 , chaired by the then Prime Minister Ramsay MacDonald and called to discuss a crisis in the Anglo Irish negotiations that eventually led to the establishment of the Free State.
