The cat flap...

... has been opened to the latest waif and stray! She/possibly he had been camping out in the polytunnel  but has now been allowed to venture into the conservatory. The right eye, in this photo, is a little dodgy, she's slightly deaf and has a bit of a limp, otherwise she seems grand. Quite young, I think, and currently called Rua meaning red.

A good evening was had last night. Wood fired pizzas, a large glass of pinot and Emma. The film was very well done - great attention to detail, amazing houses, great frocks and some fine cameo pieces especially Bill Nighy and Miranda Hart. The main two characters Anya Taylor Joy (Emma) and Johnny Flynn (Mr Knightley) were both excellent. The barred/bared buttocks were rather nice but not strictly necessary - a Mr Darcy moment!  I love this review We're not wild Austen fans, it has to be said and can find the pettiness and silliness very irritating but there was enough visual treats and performances here to enjoy.

A head-wrecking morning as we received an email saying one of our flights to New Zealand, the Dubai to Singapore leg, has been changed- pretty significantly by 13 hours!  Fortunately we had a day in Singapore booked so won't miss the connection. Unfortunately we found we'd booked the hotel room in Dubai on the wrong day - it's one of those flights that arrives in just after midnight and you leave on the same day so it throws booking into disarray. By the time we had readjusted to where we were going and when, our heads were frazzled!

Dull and very wet but no gales - yet!
