Old tools

I went on a group tour of two small museums this morning: a restored Ottoman bath house and a folk culture museum exhibition of 'Man and Tools' . Both fascinating. These tools were new to me: a hook for pulling the bucket out of a well when the rope has broken, (very practical!) , an iron for ironing Greek kilts, a rolling pin for making noodles, and an iron spindle for making thick thread.
In the evening we went to a fun concert given by some very talented ex-colleagues of mine who have formed a rock band. Our generation rock... Beatles, David Bowie etc. It was in a once beautiful old neoclassical hotel that had definitely seen better days (plaster was literally hanging off the walls and ceiling) that is now a venue for all sorts of amateur shows and performances.
