If you can't beat them...

Lake Clickham and Spire House.

When we first moved to the village the the area covered in water in the shot only had water in winter and it was a bout a quarter the size of the "Lake" in the shot.  Now it almost constantly has a pool but nowhere near this size.  It has become such a permanent feature we have nicknamed it Lake Clickham.   Lake Clickham because just of shot to the right is the Clickham Inn.  I don't think I have ever seen it so large owing of course to the two recent storms Ciara & Dennis

The strange building beyond the "Lake" is Spire House, it is one of three local follies.  The story goes that the tenant farmer didn't go to church which annoyed the landowner.  So once during the farmers absence he had a church spire built onto the front of the house.
