The non alcoholic drinks

So my local shop does not sell vodka - I repeat does not sell vodka! Instead there is a sign saying “strong alcoholic drinks” over a selection of beers that are about 4%. For Russia this is staggering as beer wasn’t even classed as an alcoholic drink until 2011. What’s more in 1980 the average Soviet adult was consuming over half a litre of vodka every two days.

This photo is actually a separate supermarket with very strong beers in the “non alcoholic drinks” section. Basically it’s all a mess. Needless to say the second supermarket sold lots of vodka, but the wine isle was actually much bigger. Putin’s war on vodka continues...
