Fordyce Kirkyard

An extraordinary picturesque Kirkyard full of delights such as the Findlater and Boyne tomb pictured in the extra. The main picture is of the Bell Tower which was formed in 1661 by heightening the porch of the medieval church. This structure once contained a prison and session house. Mary Beaton, one of the 4 Maries associated with Mary Queen of Scots, ( Mary Beaton, Mary Seaton, Mary Carmichael and the ill fated Mary Hamilton) was married to James Ogilvie of Boyne, whose effigy is on the tomb. She is buried in the Aisle.
