Myer Fremantle Department Store closed on Sunday after 40 years in the city. This morning the shop was clear of stock it seemed and workmen were removing the signage.

According to the company the store became uneconomic trying to compete with online shopping....a story repeted often around the world. There are more than a few Fremantle residents ie, Myer customers with many stories of the lack of service, the boring 'retail experience' brought about by the gradual decline in staff spread too thin across the floors. Sad to see the people lose their jobs.
