This Bonsai, a Chinese elm, Ulmus parvifolia , was photographed very early into my Blipfoto adventure.

Either the weight of snow, the harsh winter winds, or a frisky fox, (judging from the telltale footprints around it), broke the top structure off overnight.

Now seven years later, and much changed in its shape and direction of travel, it is my dedication to Joe Tree, founder of Blipfoto on this special day.

Blipfoto too has undergone many changes as well since then but has retained the essential qualities that make it such an amazing site.

The challenge of one-a-day, the care and attention of those who manage it today and the compassion of thousands of Blipfoto users (Be excellent to each other); all a tribute to the philosophy imbued in the idea by Joe all those years ago.

Joe - my Tree for you.
