Temple Mount Foundation Stone in Jerusalem

The Foundation bedrock, according to the Jewish people, is at this moment under the Dome of the Rock. It is where it is believed that God began the creation of the world.

The largest stone from Herrod's rebuilding of the Temple is this foundation stone - it is 42 feet long by 18 feet deep by 13 feet high (or close to it). This stone weighs 580 tons and was hewn and moved into place during the re-building of the Temple Mount and temple by King Herrod the Great as a gift to the Jewish people. It is the largest hewn stone known.

We were able to go into the tunnels that are now being excavated next to and under the Western wall in order to be able to see this stone. All the stones placed by Herrod had a signature framing, like a picture frame, around the outside edge of the stone.
