Fresh wood chippings

So colourful.
Green Gym working at a site by the railway line today and a lot of their trees overhanging the railway line have been trimmed to avoid any problems, which means  there are big piles of fresh chips.
We were not spreading them because we were carrying out some hedge laying.  Had to finish early as the cold and wet weather and lack of suitable 'weaving' material curtailed our morning.
The birds were happy and once they start building nests we will have to leave the hedges alone
