Clarence White 1944-1973

I was listening to a Randy Newman album today called "12 Songs," and then Clarence came on. Up until that moment I was half listening, while doing something else. All of a sudden, the song had my complete attention. White's guitar sashays through the whole thing like a sinuous snake, without ever taking the song away from the singer. His guitar playing is amazing; Hendrix was a fan. The latter day Byrds were blessed to have Clarence in their line up. Then he was killed by a drunk driver while loading gear after a gig. What a waste. You can hear him via the link below.
