Planck's Constant at #Wakefield Town Hall

With refurbishment of the Wakefield Town Hall being measured in years rather than months, the physical constant characteristic of quantum mechanics will apply.

These planks, poles and pipes are going to be a permanent feature of the landscape outside my office window throughout 2013.

Behind all the scaffolding, the Town Hall is one of Wakefield's most impressive buildings, designed by T.W Collcutt, the architect of Bloomsbury Square in London, in 1877 and officially opened in 1880.

The Town Hall was constructed in an attempt to rival Leeds and Bradford as the principle government centre of West Yorkshire.

Wakefield Town Hall is an imposing grade 1 listed building situated at the heart of Wakefield City Centre. Many of the original Victorian designed features still remain today including the Local Court Room, Council Chamber Room and the Mayors Parlour, making the Town Hall a stunning historic place of interest.

I've actually just been to a meeting inside the Town Hall this evening.
