Day 053/20. The War Horse WWI Memorial.

This is the memorial to the thousands of horses shipped into battle from Hampshire during World War One in Romsey, Hampshire.
About 110,000 of the 1.3 million horses and mules involved in the conflict passed through a giant military depot just outside Romsey.
The life-sized statue of a horse and officer in the town's Memorial Park was unveiled by the Princess Royal in 2015.
Residents raised £50,000 for the public art, which was created by sculptor Amy Goodman.
If you look closely, you will see recent damage to the reins on the right side. attributed locally to 'mindless vandalism', I would more likely guess it was caused by 'drunken stupidity'. Morons, whichever is the case.
