The Holy Trinity Church

Although I'm not a church-goer the Holy Trinty Church in Wolverton is the closest church to where I live.
Wolverton was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 by its old name of Wluerintone.
The town came into it's own when the small settlement was enlarged when the railways arrived and, along with the tracks and locos, the Wolverton Railway Works.
The Royal Train was always serviced and repaired at the Works and during WW2 Horsa gliders were built in there for the war effort.
In the area of the Holy Trinty Church you can still see the old ridge & furrows of the farmer's fields from the Medieval era. Unfortunatly the snow has covered them in this photo so you'll just have to take my word!
