The Monarch Butterfly...

... is a resident of Gran Canaria and I was photographing one of them, in the Botanic Gardens, near Maspalomas, when it became tangled in a spider's web. 

I managed to release it by giving the web a poke, only to find that a second monarch had turned up to play around. After taking a few more shots, I left them to their antics.
